Spring Harbor’s medical staff members are highly trained individuals who balance the fundamentals of respectful and compassionate patient treatment with the sophistication of new and proven medicines and therapeutic techniques.

On each of our inpatient care units, a lead physician works as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure optimal medical care for every patient. In addition to psychiatrists, we employ talented psychologists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Psychologists work in both the inpatient and outpatient settings to provide neurological and behavioral assessments. Physician assistants and nurse practitioners assist our treatment teams in delivering the safest, highest quality medication management and therapy regimens.

Spring Harbor’s medical operations are led by Girard E. Robinson , M.D., who serves as chief medical officer for Spring Harbor and chief of psychiatry for  Maine Medical Center. This common role for the two hospitals ensures that clinical practice is consistent across their nearly two-dozen psychiatric programs. It is for this reason that the services of Spring Harbor and Maine Medical Center are known as Maine’s Mental Health Network.
